My story

While I was weighing up my future, I faced a big choice: the army, or hairdressing?
At an open day at the Alfa College, I put that question to Melissa. She was still a student back then; today she is a good friend and a colleague. The conversation we had that day gave me the clarity I needed. I chose hairdressing.
After finishing my training, I started at Ed & Friends in 2000. I worked there with dedication for fifteen years and built my foundation. Then came three years at Crazy Hair, followed by two intense years at De Drentse Barbershop, where I focused entirely on men’s cuts.
After more than twenty years in three well-known salons, I felt it was time for a new step: opening my own place. Since then, I’ve loved sharing my passion, style and craft in my own salon.
In 2023 we started a new chapter: Melissa joined me in our shared salon. We each look after our own clients, in a partnership built on friendship, trust and years of shared experience.
